Sofie Shiyun Fu

Welcome to my blog, where my family and friends can see what I'm up to in Japan! I'm almost 2 and a half, and I've spent the last few months preparing for being a big sister. My baby sister, Sasha, has finally arrived, and we're having a good time together. I love to sing to her, and stroke her hands and feet - AND help Mommy give her a bath. I have a "Big Sis Kit" that I carry around with me for all of my duties!

Omochi Pounding

This week, I've been learning the art of omochi (a.k.a., mochi) pounding! The product is yummy omochi that we make into little balls and gobble up as snack. We first made little bits in our classroom with a wooden bowl and little mallet, just to get a taste. Then a REAL mochi master came to school and showed us how real omochi pounding is done, complete with a hollow stump and huge mallet.

First Trip to Chuck E Cheese!

I took my first trip to Chuck E Cheese and met The Mr. Cheese himself! I tried out all the rides, most of the games, and spent a lot of time "on screen" dancing with the music and animated bots...

Snowbunny Sofie

(I know. I look like a sugary pink Peep marshmallow.)

Spending the holidays in Ohio usually means a White Christmas. Last year I wasn't quite sure what to think of the snow, but this year I got really into it. I "made" a new (huge) snowman friend with Mommy and Daddy, went sledding, caught snowflakes with my tongue, learned how to make and throw snowballs, and shoveled the deck and backyard...

Me & Daddy battle it out

Daddy Rain [Snow] storm! (Yeah I get my revenge...)

Patching up our BIG snowman!

The Littlest Guitar Hero

My Mommy & Daddy have always been huge Guitar Hero buffs, but since my Aunts and Uncle were around to raise the bar for family challenges, I've been practicing really hard.

Holiday Fun

I had the BEST Christmas ever - I'm really good (and dramatic) at opening presents!

My Uncle Jason gave me the coolest gift ever: The Little Einstein's "Pat Pat Rocket"!!

My Aunt Nancy gave me my very own white feather Christmas tree! I get to add a new ornmanet every year, and I don't even have to share with my brother/sister :)

My Aunt Christine and I had a panting & dance party!

And Santa left me my first stocking, which was STUFFED with cool stuff, like Dora The Explorer sunglasses and band-aids, and Finding Nemo wild berry chapstick. I am very dainty when applying it so that I don't waste!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYONE!!

Vacations are for Lazing about...

Some pix of my time lazing about at Ah-Ma and Ah-Gong's place

Brrrr... the Ohio chill was getting to me...

I shared a room with Uncle Jason, and we'd chill out and watch You Tube until everyone else got up

Holidays = lots and lots of food, so I maintained my figure by using Tony Little's world famous Gazelle Elite
